Xbox gift cards are a popular way for American Express Business Platinum cardholders to use their $400 in annual Dell statement credits. The gift cards were discontinued briefly at Dell.com but now are available again.
The American Express Business Platinum Card offers a long list of premium benefits such as 5X Membership Rewards® Points for flights booked directly with airlines or with American Express Travel (amextravel.com), lounge access, CLEAR membership, and more. Among its lesser-known perk is the $400 Dell credits per calendar year.
The Dell credits are valid toward Dell purchases. The credit is split up into two $200 credits (one for the first half of the year and the other for the second half of the year). You must activate the benefit first. You don’t have to make a single purchase for each $200 credit but can make multiple purchases over the offer period.
The problem is, not every small business has a need for the Dell credits. Even though you can buy more than just computers (you can get anything from Dell’s US website such as monitors, headphones, speakers, printers, etc.), this is one perk from the Amex Business Platinum Card that many small businesses can go without.
With the return of the Xbox eGift cards, cardholders can now get something that can store value and be redeemed for Microsoft store credit, which is more useful than Dell credits. With Microsoft store funds, you can buy anything from the Microsoft store.
