If you used Facebook in the United States between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, then you are part of the Settlement Class. You can submit a claim by August 25, 2023, but only one per person.
Class Action Settlement Details
Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms, has agreed to pay $725 million to settle lawsuits filed on behalf of Facebook users who claimed that their data was shared or made accessible to third parties without their permission. Users who had a Facebook account at any time since May 24, 2007, can file a claim to receive their share of the settlement. The settlement was reached to avoid the costs and risks of a trial.
Once the deadline for submitting a claim has passed, the Settlement Administrator will calculate the total number of points assigned to all Authorized Claimants and divide the Net Settlement Amount by that number. The outcome will be the amount of the Net Settlement Fund allocated for each point. Each Authorized Claimant will receive the per-point amount multiplied by the number of points they were assigned.
