How ClassPass Works
When you sign up for a ClassPass membership, what you’re doing is purchasing a set amount of monthly credits that can be used to claim your spot in any class listed on the app. If you have any, up to ten unused credits will roll over each month.
The amount of credits you need for a class varies, depending on the city, the studio, and the time. In general, a 3pm class at a local studio in a small city will require fewer credits than a 6pm class at a franchise studio in a major city. Depending on the package you choose, credit value ranges between $1.50 to $2 each.
ClassPass also offers workout videos that air live at scheduled times or can be streamed on-demand whenever you’re free to work out. Some are ClassPass branded, while others are in partnership with popular studios, such as Barre3 and Sh1ft. These are ad-less and free to members, no credits are needed.
Here’s what we like about ClassPass:
- It offers a variety of exercise. With over 8,000 studio partnerships, you can work out at a gym, practice yoga, learn martial arts, go to a spin class and much more, all with just one membership.
- It works just about anywhere in the United States. That means you can take classes at your travel destination, and the membership will easily move with you if you relocate.
- It works with beauty and spa partners. Use your ClassPass credits towards a salon or spa appointment.
- It’s flexible. There aren’t any strict terms and conditions, and you can freeze your membership at any time.
ClassPass also offers big discounts on first-time visits at select studios. For example, CorePower gives ClassPass newcomers one free week. Other studios, like Pure Barre and Flywheel, offer one free class.
Bottom Line
If you like to mix up your workouts – Pilates, HIIT, spin, barre, and more – ClassPass is worth considering. The app lets you try thousands of classes from in-person boutique studios and live streams online, with just one monthly subscription.
