Air Canada has launched HotelSavers through their travel loyalty program, Aeroplan. HotelSavers allows Aeroplan members to redeem points for hotel stays worldwide at exclusive rates.
About Aeroplan HotelSavers
Aeroplan introduced HotelSavers as an additional benefit for its members to book hotels at a discount using Aeroplan points. According to Aeroplan, the program offers over 7,000 hotels belonging to 39 hotel brands across 11 major chains. Members can get up to a 30% discount compared to the regular Aeroplan redemption rate.
Here is a sample of hotels available with HotelSavers:
- Midscale & Economy: Coast Hotels, Holiday Inn, Novotel, Alt Hotels
- Premium: Le Germain, Omni, Noble House Hotels & Resorts, Swissôtel, Crowne Plaza, Outriggers Hotels & Resorts, and others
- Luxury: Fairmont, Kimpton, Shangri-La, Taj, Small Luxury Hotels of the World, InterContinental, Preferred Hotels & Resorts and others
Aeroplan has grouped hotels into 8 categories with category 1 for economy-level hotels starting at 10,000 points and category 8 hotels as high as 105,000 nights per night. Sign in to your Aeroplan account and select the “Hotels” tab to search for hotels.
Bottom Line
The new HotelSavers feature is a nice addition to Air Canada’s Aeroplan. Using loyalty points on hotel stays doesn’t usually represent the best value, but Aeroplan seems to have emphasized that members will be able to save up to 30% compared to the regular redemption rate. Regardless of value, it is nice to have another option to redeem your Aeroplan points.
